Description

Our client is a nominal Insurer across a range of NSW Govt insurance and care schemes. A large provider of Workers Compensation (and other) services within the NSW market.
Dealing with Employers, Employees, Govt agencies, medical providers and Ins brokers across the NSW market.
They are currently seeking a Senior Regulatory Affairs Manager on a 3 Month contract (with possibility for extension)

Your new role

Supporting the Head of Regulatory Affairs to lead and monitor the strategic and operational engagement across icare service lines with regard to Regulatory Affairs in supporting business outcomes. This role will be important in proactively managing and responding to regulator requests in a timely manner and supporting the business prepare responses to regulator enquiries.

Core Responsibilities:
Contribute to the creation of and implement the Regulatory Affairs strategy, provide advice, assistance and leadership
Protect company brand when engaging with stakeholders and deliver consistent information in high pressure situations
Engage regularly with the Strategy and Office of the CEO team (including the Government and Stakeholder Relations team), developing collaborative and influential strategies and tactical approaches for stakeholder management
Develop, communicate and implement effective strategies and processes for the Regulatory Affairs team that support all service lines
Manage complex and sensitive consultations and negotiations with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the matters are effectively addressed
Develop and maintain in-depth understanding of the key objectives and risks associated with company initiatives and be able to deliver accurate and consistent information to our Regulators
Maintain strong working relationships with key external stakeholders to effectively engage, negotiate and influence outcomes aligned to their business model
Implement the tracking and reporting of regulator engagements to provide timely and accurate reporting, advice and thorough communications
Work closely with service line specialists, Legal and Risk and Compliance team members to ensure that a coordinated and consistent approach is adopted across the Regulatory Affairs Team
Engage closely with the broader Risk and Compliance function to provide support developing a cohesive Risk and Compliance strategy and support to their service lines

What you’ll need to succeed
Extensive experience in NSW & Australian regulatory affairs within the insurance OR financial services industry
Experience in balancing commercial objectives with regulatory requirements
Proven ability to negotiate and influence outcomes
A broad range of experience engaging with regulatory bodies
Experience working in Insurance, claims management
